Victory is Available, but It's Not a Given

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is still being debated. This message isn't to debate; as some will receive and some won't, but my prayer is that it will shed some light on the importance of this free gift God has for His children. For those of you who WILL receive it; your lives will be radically changed for the best!

Some believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit was only for the early church, not for today. Others believe it doesn't exist; that the Holy Spirit being sealed upon salvation is the same event. The message here is ultimately about victory in Christ, but I would like to briefly debunk an ironic belief system.

FOR THE EARLY CHURCH WHEN APOSTLES WERE PRESENT
If you believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit (with evidence of speaking in tongues) does not exist today because it was only for the old church, the requirement is that an Apostle must be present, and you believe Apostles don't exist today; how then, do you explain believing in the great commission? The "Great Commission" of going into all the world and preaching the gospel was also given with an Apostle present. To maintain the carnal mindset that an Apostle must be present for speaking in tongues to exist; then the great commission wouldn't exist either unless an Apostle was present.

THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS & YOU
1. Satan is the God of this world, but he was stripped of all his power and authority (Colossians 2:15). Any control, influence or power he has with you and your family is because he stole it. How does he steal it? By allowing him to do so in the following ways:
  • Believing the lie that you have no power
  • Believing the lie that the baptism of the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues doesn't exist today
  • Letting fear and lack of logical understanding stop you
2. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus (Matthew 28:18). He is the heir of all things; the heir of this world. Everything belongs to Him and He has authority over all of it (Hebrews 1:2)

3. As Jesus is, so are you, in THIS WORLD (1 John 4:17). This means all authority in heaven and on earth is yours. You are an heir of the world; everything belongs to you and you have authority over it. Not only that, Jesus said you would do greater works than He did (John 14:12)! Some of you will be offended by this truth and I understand why; it's hard to swallow that we can operate the same way Jesus did.

VICTORY IS AVAILABLE, BUT IT'S NOT A GIVEN
If you read John 20, the "breath" gives life. In Acts, the "baptism" gives power. Just because you're saved doesn't mean you have victory in this life. Victory isn't something that just exists, it is definitely available, but you have to exude it by living your lives by faith; ACTIVATING the power and authority you were given. If you don't, evil, sickness, and death will forever prosper in your family and in the generations to come! "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" will NOT be true for you and your family if you don't receive and live this blessing. Being victorious is not about a one-time decision; it's a lifestyle.
