God gave EVERYONE their desires, passions, and gifts; believers AND non-believers. True, they are ultimately for His glory, but He wants us to ENJOY them! If there is a passion inside of you, it is there for a
reason, but there is NO reason to feel guilty for indulging! Whatever passions and gifts were given to you, it was knowing you would be good at and enjoy them. Why in the world would a Daddy who created us for the sole purpose of loving us, give us desires with no plan to carry them out?
How many people do you know have chosen not to pursue their passions and dreams because they've let something or someone else hold them back? How many people do you know won’t go
to school for art, dance, or music because society tells them those aren't real
careers? How many people have you heard put their gifts on hold because of parents who force them into the family business? Better yet, how many of you are
working a job you know you don’t really want? How many of you are going to school for a position that isn't what God created you to do?
Are you not pursuing the drives inside of you because you're afraid; afraid of failure, afraid of what others will say, afraid you don't have the money or resources, afraid you're too old? Perhaps you're even afraid you'll actually succeed? Are you sacrificing what you know you love for the sake of
wanting something right now or for trying to please others?
If you are not
doing what God created you to do, you will continue to be miserable and it will
only continue to get worse! Sure, you may get a promotion, a nicer home, a newer car, and have more money, but you'll cry yourself to sleep at night because you feel empty inside. You'll wake up one day, recognizing that you have everything you thought you ever wanted, and you'll wonder why you're not happy. You'll begin to go even deeper into those things you thought you wanted, thinking they will fill the void, but the more you try to fill, the worse you'll feel.
This will all happen because your
soul is crying out for something better. When God created you, He PUT things inside of you that He KNEW you would love, that you'd be great at, and that would give you great satisfaction! When you aren't doing those things, you will not be able to help feeling lost, sad, regretful, confused, and perhaps hopeless.
He wants you to activate your gifts for His glory, but rest assured He made them to be the fun of your life!
