Can You Go to Hell for These Things?

The answer is an emphatic NO; but let's talk about the "things" and expound with scripture. It's grieving that so many believers live in fear; but the pressures of living your life, thinking you can lose your salvation because of something you've done, becomes paralyzing.

There is endless revelation when it comes to God, but let's strip it back to the basics to reveal the simplicity of Christ and what He did for us. There are three common deeds that believers think can send them to hell; sinning, not forgiving others, and blaspheming the Holy Spirit. If you are one of them; here's why those are lies straight from that very pit.

Sin: Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have separated you from your God..."

Forgiveness: Matthew 6:14-15 "“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:9-13 "Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Your name...And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us..."

Blaspheming Holy Spirit: Mark 3:28-29 "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin."

Again, there are many scriptures used, but to say these apply to believers is taking them all out of context. Anything in the Old Testament scripture (before Jesus died) is Him teaching about Kingdom principles; all the things people must do in order to be in right standing with God. In the New Covenant, after His death and Resurrection; everything changed, as well as the reasons for doing so. Everything we do is because of what Christ did for us. We no longer sin because we have been forgiven, we forgive others because Christ forgave us, we love others because Christ loved us, and ALL sin was paid for, including the punishment.

New Covenant Scripture References
- John 8:11 "Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
- Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
- John 3:36 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them."

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN AND ONE WAY TO HELL
You weren't made righteous or "saved" because of your deeds; therefore you can't be made unrighteous or "lose your salvation" because of your deeds. Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of your works, lest anyone should boast."

Romans 10:9-10 "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." John 3:36 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them." There is only ONE condition where someone would have no forgiveness and go to hell; IF HE REJECTS THE SON.
