During my time with the Lord this morning, He revealed some things about sowing and reaping in the body of Christ. The Lord took me to Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." He told me that believers pull this passage out as an individual principle and make it be something it’s not. I asked Him for deeper wisdom and revelation about this and He told me to read Galatians 6:6-10 as He broke it down for me.
Galatians 6:6 “Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.” Word in the Greek here is “Logos”, and in this context it refers to Instruction, doctrine, teaching. Things in the Greek here is an adjective “Agathos” which means of good constitution or nature, useful, salutary, good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy, excellent, distinguished, upright, honorable.
Galatians 6:8 “For he who sows to his flesh will
of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit
reap everlasting life.” Flesh in the Greek here is “Sarx”, and in
this particular usage it refers to the
animal nature with cravings which incite to sin. Spirit is “Pneuma” which in this verse refers to a way which emphasizes the personality and character of the Holy Spirit; emphasizing
His work and power Spirit of truth.
Galatians 6: 9
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in
due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Doing
in the Greek is “Poieo” meaning to
produce, bear, shoot forth
Galatians 6:10
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do
good to all, especially to those who are of the household of
faith.” Do is the same meaning as in verse 9.
The Lord shared with me that though He does want us to
help each other, especially those in the body of Christ (1 John 3:17), the principle
of sowing and reaping in these passages is not of material goods. It is a
spiritual sowing and reaping; shooting forth, bearing, and producing the power
of the Spirit in doctrinal truths.
DEEPER CONFIRMATION
Then the Lord took me to Luke 12:24 to confirm the principle of sowing material things. It says, “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?” He told me His children do not need to sow material things in order to reap material things because the birds don't and we are more valuable. He then confirmed even further by highlighting Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you”. Things in the Greek here is “Tauta” which means “these” and it's referring to the material things listed in Matthew 6:31 (food, drink, clothing etc.).

There are definite principles of sowing and
reaping all throughout the Bible, but here the Lord is highlighting the deeper
level; the supernatural element. You may sow materially and reap materially,
you may sow spiritually and reap spiritually, but ultimately the message here is that you do not have to
sow in order to reap benefits that Jesus died for you to INHERIT as His
child! For if you are surrendered to the will of the Lord and say yes to following Him (seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness), all of those things are added to you!
