Do You Feel Like You're Making a Wrong Decision?

Do you ever struggle with making a decision because you're afraid you'll make the wrong one? Do you worry that if you make the wrong decision, the Lord will be displeased with you or that somehow your life will be messed up? The truth is, there is no right or wrong decision when you're following the Lord...

When you're a believer, fully surrendered to following the Lord's will, it's about following HIM. Trusting God is more important to him than the actual path you're taking. You could take a path that looks like it's a good one and still not be trusting him. Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but it's end is the way of death." Proverbs 3:6 "Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your path." Talk to the Lord, tell him what you're thinking, what you're feeling, ask him to guide you. Then move forward, acknowledge that you want him to be with you and guide you, then let him lead you and guide you. In the course of following God, he's not going to lead you to do evil.

Does This Mean We Can Do Whatever We Want?
The answer to that question is in 1 Peter 2:16 " Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover‑up for evil; live as servants of God."  Evil is not about what YOU think is good or bad. People miss this because they gauge good, bad, right and wrong, based on circumstances. When circumstances don't turn out the way WE think it should, we tend to believe we've made a wrong decision. When things turn out in a way we deem acceptable, we think we made the right decision.  Trusting the Lord's leadership is more important than the decisions you're going to make. You will only be able to consider that which you have knowledge of, which is limited. No matter how much you plan or guesstimate, you will never know completely what the Lord has for you anyway.

In a nutshell, how can you ever make a wrong decision when your steps are ordered by the Lord? You can choose not to trust him and that will cause your life to go in a way he didn't ordain; but if you're a Christian, your steps are ordered, there's nothing you can do about that. Proverbs 16:33 "We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall".

People often want proof and evidence of "how" things will come to pass, they want to make a plan. Faith IS the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
