You're Never Too "Whatever" for Fun

Has anyone ever told you that when you get older, that's the time to be more conservative; in your appearance, your dress, your job, your hobbies, your lifestyle etc.? In Ecclesiastes, it gives a list of all the things that "there is a time for". Included in that list is a time to laugh. There is a time to laugh and have fun. Deep down, everyone wants this, but how many of those same people, perhaps even you, believe that the time for fun and laughter is only when you're young...

True, you do tend to have more responsibility when you grow older, and depend on your earthly parents less, but that doesn't make you any less God’s child. It doesn't matter how adult you are; in God's eyes, you're still his baby. Now, there is a difference between childish and child-like. I'm not saying it's wise to be childish; immature, but we should absolutely embrace innocence, trust and ingenuousness.

I'm aware there are certain rules and regulations that may be set forth; for example in one's job or commercial position, but you shouldn't try to fit a mold that the Lord didn't create you to fit in. You're a square peg, trying to fit into a round hole. You've spent years of your life trying to say and do the politically correct thing, fit in the box that your friends, family and co-workers tried to fit you in. BREAK OUT and BE FREE! Be who God created you to be without apologizing for it.

The Time is Now
Is the time to have fun only when you’re a child? Fun is what you make it. If you’re a woman who likes to twirl in her back yard on a rainy day, then do it. If you’re a young man who likes to listen to classical music while reading a good book, do it! If you’re the age of 60 and want to go dancing with your girlfriends, dance. And if you’re approaching 40 and want to color your hair a bright color just because you like it, you should do it! When you are established in who you are in Christ, you are free to be your unique self and you're never too old, too young, too white, too black, too skinny, too thick, too poor, too wealthy, too conservative or too saved...to ROCK IT!
