You were created to be loved! Did you hear that? You were created to BE LOVED, by the creator and God of the entire universe; He made you so HE could love YOU! God did not create you to love Him; He doesn't need you to love Him because He IS love. He has and IS everything and is fully sustained. Jesus Himself tells us in Psalm 50:12 "If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it." This is a message of Grace!
Jesus did not come to earth to get rid of the law, He came to fulfill it, which means He fulfilled ALL of them; including love the Lord God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength. It's not about our love for Him, it's about His love for us. As a believer, you already love God because He IS love, He loved you first, and He lives inside of you. You can't love him more; with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Your inner man already loves Him because He IS love; not because you sing songs to Him, not because you pray every day, not because you go to church weekly, not because you danced before Him, not because you studied the bible, raised your hands, cried or even helped others. Thank you Jesus for NO pressure to perform!
You were also not created to please God. He is already pleased with you because you're his son and daughter; not because you did a bunch of stuff that was pleasing. In Mark, when Jesus was baptized, what was the first thing God said to Him when He came up out of the water? He said, "You are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." He said this before Jesus ever did anything for Him; before His ministry ever began. We were not created to do or give anything to God. Sure there are things we do that please Him; just like when your child says please and thank you or cleans up their room without being told, but it is always for the benefit of our own faith. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son; that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." It DOES NOT say, "For God so wanted people to love Him and do a bunch of stuff for him, so he could be pleased with them, that he gave His only begotten son..."
RECEIVE his love today. Take from Him, receive from Him every moment. Rest in knowing that your relationship with Him exists no matter what you do. Nothing can separate you from HIS love for YOU. NOTHING! Thank you Lord!
