While You Were Sleeping...Around

I never knew what a soul tie was or that such a thing even existed, and I certainly didn't understand the potential damage it could do. Simply put, soul ties are what happen in the spirit realm to link people's souls together. They can be beneficial, like the tie a parent has with their child. What's burdening my heart today are the unhealthy ties; the ones that allow demonic spirits to ravage through all who are involved. More specifically I'm referring to the ties we create by giving our bodies away; the invisible clutches that are birthed by having sex outside of marriage.

Why Do We Willingly Accept Poverty?

The Lord began working in me regarding "receiving" several years ago; consistently blessing me with surprises just because He loves me. He's continued to do so over the past two years and in an ironic twist, the Lord gave me a "wake up" call today with an incident resembling something He already did for me last year. Before I tell of that awakening event, allow me to share two of my favorite examples.

Why Aren't Believers Seeing Healing?

A dear friend of mine, my sister in Christ, recently asked me a question regarding healing. Though her name and specific details will be kept private, the broad curiosity has been a common concern. “If healing is God’s will, why is it that not everyone is healed when we pray for them?” I too have wondered about this for years, so I decided to seek the Lord for further wisdom and this is what He’s revealed to me thus far…

A Look Into My Heart

Dear Everyone, I am writing this to publicly apologize to anyone I have offended with my posts and comments regarding faith, Jesus Christ, and surrender to the Lord. I do not apologize for believing in Jesus Christ; but my heart’s intention is to love you and tell you the truth; not to offend you. You see, the last 2 years have been an unbelievable eye opener for me. To put it bluntly, they’ve been more of a rude awakening; and it is my desire to show you that it doesn’t have to happen to you!

The Truth about "The Word of God"

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Some believers often pull out that one verse and claim "SEE, we must know the scriptures if we want to discern truth."  You can't stop there; the very next verse tells you that the word of God is not scripture, it's a “WHO”. Verse 13 says “And there is no creature hidden from HIS sight…". Who is "His" referring to? Jesus.

Why Positive Thoughts,Vibes, & Energy Won't Work

People often hurt, and other people often have a desire to comfort the ones who are hurting; so I understand that in those attempts to console, sometimes things are said simply out of compassion. I have been musing for quite some time over a particular set of consolations that don't necessarily surprise me; they do however grieve my inner most being.

The Answer to the Question "Where is My Miracle?"

I'm seeing, hearing, and reading about so many believers who are questioning "Where is my miracle?" Many want to know why it hasn't happened yet and how long they have to pray before it comes to pass. If anyone understands this dilemma, I do. You can follow the journey here (The Holidays in the Making), but if there's one thing I've learned from the Lord over the last two years, it's that time is not a factor for God.

Word from the Lord on Sowing and Reaping

During my time with the Lord this morning, He revealed some things about sowing and reaping in the body of Christ. The Lord took me to Galatians 6:7  Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." He told me that believers pull this passage out as an individual principle and make it be something it’s not. I asked Him for deeper wisdom and revelation about this and He told me to read Galatians 6:6-10 as He broke it down for me.

The Truth Behind Hoarding

I've recently watched several episodes of "Hoarders"; a documentary about people with obsessive-compulsive disorder who struggle to part with their belongings. The more I watched, the more I recognized how we try to fix the outside problems, only to see the internal issues unresolved. The scenarios are vast, but at the end of the day it all came down to one root issue; they weren't loved. Interesting that we were all created to be loved by our father; THE Father.

Are You Afraid?

I lived the majority of my life being controlled by fear. Understand that I know first-hand what it's like; I know it's not easy, and I know that the idea of getting rid of it can be downright more terrifying than the fear itself! When fear has gripped you, every decision you make, every thought you think, and every step you take will be guided by that fear. Sadly, what you're NOT told about enough is that fear in your life will cause the very things you're afraid of happening to happen! It is sneaky and manipulative and letting it run you will change the direction of your life for the worst. So let me leave you with these questions...

When Will You Take Back Your Authority?

As believers, we are not exempt from sickness attacking us, the enemy tempting us or trials testing us. Isaiah 54:17 says "No weapon formed against you shall prosper". This means the weapons will form, but they won't win. They will have no choice but to bow down to you in the name of Jesus. Why then are sickness, temptation, and death prospering!?!

Do You Serve a God of Poverty?

I read this article today entitled "Joel Osteen's Church Theft Opens Can of Worms". It basically alludes to the fact that the amount of money stolen isn't what should be dropping our jaw, but rather the amount of money Joel's church makes in tithes and offerings each year. After reading multiple comments, it became clear to me that though there is some ignorance on the subject, people are just flat out living in FEAR!

Why You Aren't Manifesting Deliverance

The Lord recently asked me to pray for someone and to speak into their life. I sat listening intently to them vent and after heeding the voice of the Holy Spirit, I began to pray what the Lord prompted me to pray. Only a few seconds into the prayer, they yelled out, "NO! Don't pray that!" I quietly asked them why and they responded with, "I don't want that!"

Behaviors Aren't Genetic

I saw short video about a woman who noticed fear rising up in her little boy and escaping from his lips. He was saying things like "I can't" and "I'm afraid". She asked her little boy who told him he couldn't and what made him think he was afraid. The Lord showed her that those things were something he learned from her and if she didn't do anything about it, fear would continue to take over her and her family.

Why I Feared Fun

Yesterday I wrote about my complex trip to Galveston "Was God in Galveston"; sharing my heart about how my anticipation was replaced with sorrow and the insight that the Lord was still there delighting in me. Today, as my husband and I sat discussing what the Lord is about to do in our lives, the topic of fun was once again brought up. To be specific, we were talking about how the Lord gave us passions first and foremost for our own enjoyment, and that ministry is always second. As my husband continued to encourage me by affirming the Lord WANTS us to enjoy our passions, a HUGE light bulb went off in my head...the ROOT issue in why I wasn't able to have "fun" at the ocean...

Was God in Galveston?

Over the span of the last 19 months of my journey with the Lord, after I finally gave up trying to do things my way and the world’s way, I have had three goals; for my heart to be made whole, for my soul to prosper, and to be steadfast in knowing that Jesus Christ would never leave me or forsake me. Up until that point of surrender, everything was simply head knowledge…but that has never been enough for me. I didn’t want to just know about Jesus; I wanted to KNOW the Lord! I wanted deeper awareness and a level of intimacy that only He can fill; one we were all created to desire. I wanted a heart to heart, emotional connection. Sadly, because my emotions controlled me for over 35 years, this process of healing and growth had me feeling like a tossed salad; to the point where I didn’t know what to feel or when.

It Can All be Yours Too!

I stumbled across an article that outlined Joyce Meyer's assets. It had detailed information, including photos, of the houses that she and her husband have, their cars, the trips they've taken, along with all of the other material things they've accumulated over the years of her ministry. How this person was able to tap into all of that information is unknown to me, but one thing that I definitely noticed is that someone is very angry that Joyce has all of this "stuff".

Let's Get Really Real about Real Women!

For decades, the media has force fed us images of what is deemed the "perfect woman". Television commercials, magazine covers, and music videos, have gorged us with what society has unconsciously accepted as the ideal image; causing us women to feel we don't measure up. Even store-front mannequins are weapons that have preyed on the insecurities of women of all ages. While some advocates of healthy self esteem, such as the Dove Evolution of Real Beauty campaign, have outed the obvious Photoshop'd distortions of the reality of women; the revised version that displays women of all shapes, sizes, and builds, still isn't the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

God Does Not Choose Tragedy and Death

In a moment of tragedy, it's the natural response of our emotions to cling to what we feel brings us solace. A lot of us cling to the fact that God must have a reason; but sadly, even more of us hold on to the fact that God must have chosen for it to happen. When disaster strikes or when someone we love passes away, it makes our emotions feel better to believe there is a higher purpose. The truth...is that God did not cause it, nor did He have anything to do with it.

Boasting of Jesus is Not Arrogance

There seems to be some controversy about John, "The disciple whom Jesus loves." It's been said there are many people who find it arrogant that John refers to himself in that way; being that all of the disciples were loved by Jesus. While it is true that all of the disciples, as well as all of us, are loved by Jesus, NOT everyone is willing to receive it.

Helping Others Isn't Helping

I've heard it, you've seen it, everyone has known about it from somewhere; the cliche that if you're feeling down and out, helping someone will make you feel better. While it is true you'll get a junkie rush from your shot of "I did my good deed", whatever you were feeling prior to that fix doesn't go away.

Blessings Aren't Earned

Do you worry that if you make the wrong decision, the Lord will be displeased with you and withhold blessings from you? Though there are multiple scriptures I'll reference here, I can sum this entire article up with one sentence: The Lord blesses us for one reason; because He loves us; not because we earned it.

Have You Given Up on Your Gift?

God gave EVERYONE their desires, passions, and gifts; believers AND non-believers. True, they are ultimately for His glory, but He wants us to ENJOY them! If there is a passion inside of you, it is there for a reason, but there is NO reason to feel guilty for indulging! Whatever passions and gifts were given to you, it was knowing you would be good at and enjoy them. Why in the world would a Daddy who created us for the sole purpose of loving us, give us desires with no plan to carry them out?

Do You Help Out of Love or Approval?

How many people have you heard say they refuse to give money to someone on the street because they don't want to enable alcohol or drug abuse? How many times have you seen a fellow believer in need and the church turned them away because of "protocol"? How many of you are guilty of these things yourselves? How much longer will we help others based on whether or not WE think they are worthy of it? How many times will we request "time to pray about it" when the Lord presents us an opportunity to give?

Waiting on The Lord

Too many people miss out on their destiny and blessings simply because they get tired of waiting.  They say, “I’ve been waiting and waiting and nothing is happening” or “I’m not waiting anymore, I’m tired of it; I’m gonna do it on my own!” How can you possibly be mad at and blame God, when you’re the one who chose to take matters into your own hands? He is a GOOD Daddy; He sees all, He knows when you are ready for certain things in your life, He knows when you can handle certain blessings, and only He knows the dangers you’ll face that you aren’t aware of. We want things and we want them now, but He knows we would hurt ourselves if we had it now; and we often times wouldn’t even enjoy what he gave us because there are things going on in our hearts that would prevent us from doing so.

You Thought He Came to Bring Peace?

In a magazine with the feature story entitled "Christianity: Good or Bad for America?", one of the debaters (a non-believer) posed the question "If Jesus came to bring peace, why are there people killing people?" Ultimately, we know that Jesus is peace, but He is very clear that what He came to do was stir things up!

Greedy is Greedy

Many people say they don’t want a lot of money because there's too big of a temptation to become greedy. Not-so-good news flash, if you’re greedy, you’re greedy; and greed is there whether you have millions sitting in your checking account or only $20 to your name. But rest assured if your trust is in your money, that truth that's in your heart will often times only be more revealed, the more you have.

Your Father is Not a Task Master

Have you seen God as a dictator; some supreme being that bosses us around like a drill sergeant; bringing down His gavel of punishment when we don't comply? I knew God loved me and I knew my sins were forgiven, yet I lived in an unhealthy fear of Him; afraid He would reprimand me, afraid to make a wrong decision, and afraid to do anything at all for fear he would withhold blessings. I saw Him as my master, not a good Daddy.

Fears Plaguing Believers about False Idols

The Lord has instructed me to address some matters of the heart that He takes very seriously; starting with holiday celebrations. It's often said that the most popular Christmas customs; including Christmas trees and mistletoe, are new age embodiments of pagan rituals. While it is true that Christmas originated from Pagan revelry, the only reason is because the Pagan's were worshiping the trees that they later brought into their homes and decorated. They were worshiping the trees.
